In the last few years, maintaining health and treating illness has become more of a social-family issue and require a comprehensive family perspective as well as the involvement of all family members.

Problems such as attention deficit disorder, growth and developmental problems, obesity, stress and anxiety are issues addressed by the family practitioner or the pediatrician. In many cases, the physician diagnoses and treats these problems by exploring the parents' growth and development history, supporting and guiding the couple, getting to know the members of the family, etc.

When all members of the family are being cared for by the same physician, the medical care they get is better and more comprehensive.
